Your mission field is where you are

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.        Matthew 28:19-20

The Church

At Crossroads we start serving in our own body.  We love and serve those in our own midst.  It is important that each person who attends is known and cared for as a person.  Whether in our nursery or the front row you are valuable to Jesus and to us.  We seek to serve through prayer, shepherding, resources, and action.

The Community

Jesus gave the Church the mission to take His good news with us wherever we go.  This mission starts with our local body here at Crossroads then moves outward into our community.

We at Crossroads love the community of Custer!  We seek to know and love our neighbors whether they are immediately next door, across town, or visiting us on vacation.  You can find us serving in local opportunities and helping those in need.

Meet our Missionaries

  • Juan carlos & evelyn johanna portillo

Juan Carlos and Evelyn Johanna Portillo, along with their children, Rebekah, Benjamin, and Hannah, have served as a pilot/mechanic family in Oaxaca, Mexico, with the Mission Aviation Fellowship affiliate program Alas de Socorro Mexico (ADSM) for 13 years. Recently they completed a two-year assignment in Paramaribo, Suriname, with the MAF affiliate program Surinaamse Zendings Vliegdienst (SZV). They have now accepted an assignment to Guatemala with another MAF affiliate, AGAPE, where they started their missionary service in 1998. This transition includes helping Benjamin get settled in Colorado for an internship at IdRaHaJe Christian Camp before moving to Guatemala.

After serving in different roles within ADSM and SZV, which helped the programs stabilize and expand, Juan Carlos will take on a new role as Director of Maintenance for the programs in both Guatemala and Honduras while remaining available for special projects in Oaxaca, Mexico.
